FAQs
Our classes and how to choose the right one:
-
Reformer pilates is a dynamic, full-body workout done on a spring-based machine called the reformer. It’s low-impact, super targeted and amazing for building strength, mobility, stability and overall control.
-
Not at all. Our classes welcome all abilities, with plenty of options to scale up or down. If you’re brand new, we do recommend starting with a few Essentials classes to get comfy with the fundamentals and build your confidence, alignment and technique
-
Essentials: Slower, more technique-focused and great for beginners or anyone craving mindful, form-first movement. Slower doesn’t mean easier: you’ll still feel a great workout and that signature Pilates burn, while perfecting your technique.
Everyday: A stronger, more dynamic flow for those who want to push themselves and take their practice a little further. Our instructors offer layered progressions and modifications throughout, so you’ll be supported and challenged at your own level.
-
Yes! During your first trimester, you’re welcome in any class. From 13 weeks onward, please drop us a note at hello@figpilates.co.uk so we can point you in the direction of our pre & post natal specialist instructors’ classes and discuss other options.
-
Absolutely — once you’ve had the all-clear from your midwife or GP. This is usually after your 6-week check, or 10–12 weeks after a C-section.
-
Of course! Babies are welcome in our Mums & Bubs classes as long as they’re non-crawling. Our studio is cosy, so please leave your buggy at home but bring a car seat, blanket or a little mat so they can relax while you move.
-
Yes we do. We offer tailored 1:1 and duet sessions to support your goals — whether that’s building strength, navigating pregnancy or easing back in postnatally. Drop us an email at hello@figpilates.co.uk to enquire.
-
We do our absolute best to accommodate everybody (and every body). Just send us a quick email at hello@figpilates.co.uk before booking so we can guide you or recommend a private session if needed.
Studio info and how we roll:
-
We’ve got 8 Reformers — small, cosy and perfect for personalised attention
-
Anything comfy that lets you move. Grip socks are required for hygiene and safety, and we have plenty available to purchase in the studio.
-
Just yourself, your grippy socks and some water. We’ve got the rest covered.
-
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class so we can help you get set up. We kindly ask that you don’t arrive earlier than 10 minutes, as we don’t have a waiting area and can’t disturb any class already in progress.
-
Sorry, not this time. The studio door locks at the class start time to keep everyone safe and to maintain a calm, uninterrupted vibe. If you’re running late, please skip the knock — we promise it’s nothing personal.
-
Our instructors may offer gentle hands-on adjustments to support your form and help you get the most out of your movement. If you’d prefer not to receive them, just let your instructor know before class.
