Essentials Reformer

First-timer or a seasoned mover, this class has you covered. We’ll focus on the essentials; key pilates movements, intentional breathing and deep mind–body awareness, while instructors guide you with options to scale up or down. The pace is mindful but don’t be fooled: you’ll still feel that pilates burn.

Pregnancy & Postnatal Reformer Pilates at Fig

At Fig, we’re proud to support you through every stage of pregnancy and postpartum with a team fully trained in pre & postnatal pilates.

Our classes remain mixed-level reformer sessions, with suitable modifications offered throughout your pregnancy where appropriate.

Up to 12 weeks pregnant?

You can continue attending any class, unless advised otherwise by your healthcare provider or there are any underlying conditions or risks.

Already experienced on the reformer?

If you were regularly attending reformer classes before pregnancy and feel confident on the reformer, you can continue attending any class throughout pregnancy with modifications where needed.

New to reformer & second trimester onwards?

We’ll guide you towards our Essentials classes, which are the best place to build confidence, move safely and get used to the reformer during pregnancy.

Returning After Baby

You’re welcome to return to classes once you’ve had the all-clear from your midwife or GP — usually after your 6-week check, or around 10–12 weeks after a C-section.

If you’re looking for a softer return to movement, our Mums & Bubs classes are a lovely way to ease back into exercise with your little one by your side.

We’ll always offer modifications where needed and help you feel comfortable getting back into movement at your own pace.

All pregnancy and postnatal participation is at instructor discretion.

Pregnant clients can attend classes up to 38 weeks.

Postnatal clients will need GP or midwife sign-off before returning.

Please let your instructor know at the start of class if you’re pregnant or postnatal so we can look after you properly.

All of our permanent instructors are pre & postnatal qualified. Cover teachers may not always hold the same qualification — if you’re ever unsure, just drop us a WhatsApp or email before class and we’ll be happy to check for you.
